Hi, my name is Zi. I’m a licensed psychotherapist and a Professor of Psychology & Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Prior to having a career as a mental health professional and educator, I was a competitive athlete & coach, formerly ranked number 3 nationally as a junior athlete. Growing up as an athlete and a Division I student athlete during my undergraduate study, I understand the value of learning from my success and failures, hard work, and being honest with myself in order to make ongoing progress.

I had the privilege of working with elite athletes as a Performance psychology specialist at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy in Vail, Colorado.

Here are some of my professional experiences the last 10 years:

M.A. Sport & Performance Psychology, University of Denver; Ed.M. Counseling Psychology, Teachers College, Columbia University.

Staff psychotherapist and clinical supervisor at outpatient mental health settings in South Bronx, NY, East New York, and Bed-Study, Brooklyn, New York.

Columbia University professor responsible for designing and teaching Practicum and Fieldwork courses to graduate students in the Clinical & Counseling Psychology Department.

As a private practice owner since 2019, I have been providing mental health services to patients and mentorship to mental health professionals who are looking for ongoing professional development and guidance.
